This fundraiser for the Center of Hope and Bridges Domestic Violence Shelters will be a semi-formal/formal masquerade event full of food, fun, live and silent auctions, music and dancing, a photo booth, with activities focused on raising awareness and shedding the secrecy about the life altering effects of domestic violence on its victims. There are many aspects to domestic violence, and the pain is often hidden among the many masks that victims wear to hide the emotional and physical turmoil they experience.
Sponsorships are available to local businesses, individuals and organizations and range from $250 to $5000. GFWC club members are actively recruiting donations for the silent and live auctions, always a highlight of the evening. Contact GFWCSpringStation@gmail.com for more information.
Behind the Mask is the theme for the 2019 event. The goal for the evening is to raise funds for both Maury County’s Center of Hope Domestic Violence Shelter and Williamson County’s BRIDGES Domestic Violence Shelter, with additional funds retained by the club to support local community projects, mainly in Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station.
Over the past several years, The GFWC Spring Station Woman’s Club has raised over $20,000 in support of the shelters. Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention is a Signature Project of the international General Federation of Woman’s Clubs (GFWC).
