Meagan Angus (above left) and Windy Thurman (above right) joined forces to create a business that gives local ladies a one stop shop for beauty and fashion. Conveniently located on the historic Square in downtown Columbia, the Fashion House Boutique opened in September in the front part of Salon South.
Meagan, who owns Salon South and leases the space, recently remodeled the interior, both downstairs, as well as the upstairs, which is currently being used by two artists, as well as photographer Sarah Linnea Tatom. Salon South has been in the area for 10 years and provides an array of services: from hair, nails and makeup to spray tans and wedding day beauty services.
Meagan's mother, Mary Mobley, who also works at the salon says that the business collaboration with The Fashion House Boutique was in part due to her daughter's sweet, inclusive nature but also because of the enduring relationships that are often built between hairdressers and their clients. This is what happened in this case, as Wendy was one of Meagan's clients.
"Wendy had been telling Meagan for three years about her dreams to open a boutique one day, and when we moved to this location, Megan gave Wendy the opportunity to turn her dream into a reality," Mobley said.
Wendy (above right) leapt at the chance and set up the Fashion House Boutique in the front third of the salon, which specializes in fun, comfortable and trendy clothes and accessories. If you are walking around the Square, you likely have seen some of the merchandise just outside the front door.
