BBQ pits and smokers filled Riverwalk Park on Saturday for the 2nd Annual First Tennessee Bank Muletown BBQ Cook-Off. Teams loaded in Friday evening to begin cooking and woke up to a sunny day at the park.
The contest was open to the public and included entertainment for the whole family. Bouncy houses dotted the park along with cornhole, face painting, live music and plenty of southern food to eat. Craft tents selling holiday wreaths, jewelry, purses and hand carved wood decor were also available for purchase.
The competition was a sanctioned Kansas City BBQ Society event. Teams could compete in three divisions-Pork Butt/Shoulder, Ribs and Chicken. There was also a People Choice Award and Best Dessert Competition. If you want to try your recipes out, make plans to compete next September.
