Grey skies were no match for the 18th Annual Sunset Rhythm and Vines held Saturday, September 17th. One of the most popular fundraisers by the Columbia Breakfast Rotary, the event draws hundreds of people to the lush lawn of Natchez Hills Vineyards.
Guests were seated under a dazzling white tent and given the option of decorating their own table. From classic floral centerpieces to a James K Polk theme, the tables competing in the decorating contest were all stunning in their own ways.
Natchez Hills Vineyards opened two tasting rooms for the event. Guests sampled reds, rose and whites before picking out a bottle for the evening. Each glass paired well with a catered dinner of marinated chicken breasts, roast beef, salad, red potatoes and two dessert cakes by Russell Catering of Lewisburg, TN.
A silent auction was set up for guests to mingle and decide over art, framed photography, commemorative flags, boutique packages and more. A live auction followed later in the evening that included a gorgeous commemorative portrait of the late Pat Summit.
Proceeds from past events were used to install a splash pad at Riverwalk Park, a shelter at the park, partnering with the City of Columbia to build the children's playground at Ridley Park, supplying dictionaries each year to all Maury County third graders and providing four annual academic scholarships.
Later in the evening, performer, Tom Meadows and Friends were brought on stage to entertain the masses. From rock n roll, to country and soul, the band rocked the event into the sunset.
The evening was a sell-out event for one of Maury County’s finest civic organizations. To learn more about the Columbia Breakfast Rotary visit their Facebook page HERE to stay up to date on all they do to improve life for the children of Maury County.
