The Maury County Boys & Girls Club Dream Makers Dinner and Auction is one of the Club's major events of the year. This year's event was held last Friday night at Puckett's and included a Silent Auction, dinner and several important awards, including Board Member of the Year and the Ora Thompson Service Award of the Year.
Committee chair was Mrs. Elaine Chaffin, who along with the Auction Committee helped bring the event to fruition. Eddie Ables served as the auctioneer. Musicians included the talented Cord Martin, Kenny Anderson Jr., and John Wesley Anderson.
The Boys & Girls Club serves over 800 youth per year with daily before & after school and summer programs targeted to three main areas: academic success, healthy lifestyles and good character and citizenship. Their is for all Club members to graduate high school on time with a plan for their future, healthy habits, strong character, and all of the tools they will need to succeed in life.
They do this by offering tutoring by certified teachers, daily homework help, graduation and career preparation, college application assistance, nutrition education, daily physical activity, community service and civic clubs, drug and alcohol prevention, financial literacy, and much more.
