Art Effects, the art show and sale hosted by the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation on August 5-6 at the Memorial Building, featured more than two dozen regional artists in a variety of mediums, such as oil, watercolor, pottery, jewelry and wood. Collectors and browsers turned out for the two day event, including for the Friday night reception.
The event achieved sales of $34,383. According to Foundation Executive Director Joe Kilgore, 30% of all sales benefit the Foundation.
“I would like to thank the participating artists, our sponsors and those who purchased a unique work of art at this event. It is the generosity of our supporters and the community that enables the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation to impact the lives of those in our region facing financial challenges,” said Kilgore.
First Farmers was the presenting sponsor for Art Effects. Reception sponsors were NHC Columbia and and many organizations and individuals provided booth sponsorships. In addition, in-kind donations were received from the Grog Shoppe and Puckett’s Restaurant.
In the past 10 years, the Foundation has funded more than $1.6 million in programs and services for underserved and financially challenged populations.
