Who doesn't love to be the first to know? Every year Swanky Plank Vintage at Rippavilla Plantation holds a Sneak Peak Party for those who like to get in early and get the goods. Thursday, July 7th, the doors opened on the grounds to row after row of an eclectic mix of vendors with an equally mixed tent of goods. Attendees to the Sneak Peak Party were treated to wine as they shopped Thursday night, and were allowed return admission for Friday and Saturday as well.
As one of the premier vintage markets of the year, people come from all over to "pick" as they call it. Popular items to grab were vintage signs, art, dishes, and furniture. The booths held items from the turn of the century, the retro 50s, and everything in between.
Maybe "vintage" isn't your style. No worries, there were several vendors with unique items of their own for visitors to snatch up. We saw booths with hand made jewelry, fun and bright door hangers, pendant and quilts, and more.
All that shopping can make a person hungry. Sprinkled across the lawn were food trucks galore. There were fried green tomato sandwiches, homemade ice cream, fruit tea, bbq, and more southern favorites. Under the shade of the trees picnic tables were set up for people to rest their feet while classical music floated through the air.
If you missed the 2016 Swanky Plank event you're in luck! Coming October 29, 2016, Rippavilla Plantation will hold their second market event of the year, Vines and Vintage.
