Rippavilla Plantation has a sweet new resident with Spring Hill Bakery now offering their delectable goods from the historic home. Sarah Gonzalez started Spring Hill Bakery from her kitchen in April 2015, and began selling on Facebook and at local farmers markets. Word spread fast and when the time came for a bigger kitchen, the space at Rippavilla Plantation was just the ticket.
On a beautiful day, lines zig-zagged through the courtyard of Rippavilla as Gonzalez and her husband, Corey, warmly greeted their first customers. Guests were treated to a tasting of two of Gonzalez’s most popular items- Chocolate Chip Expresso Cookies- perfect sized morsels of chocolate mixed with a hint of dark expresso for a treat that pairs well with your morning java or as an all-day indulgence. The second offering was a lighter take on the traditional cinnamon roll called the Rippavilla Rose, which is made with brioche bread dough.
Row upon row of fresh artisan breads- Jalapeno Cheddar bread, Cranberry Orange bread, Buttered Knots, Banana Loafs, Baguettes, Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies and more were offered at the Grand Opening. Excited customers filled the courtyard tables as they enjoyed their purchases in the sunshine with friends and family.
