Off the Duck was among the 250 - 300 people who came out to enjoy live music, homemade brew and a wide sampling of food last Saturday evening, May 9, for the third annual Food Truck Fest. The fundraising event garnered nearly $10,000 for aMuse’um, the children’s museum of Columbia, which is located in downtown Columbia on the historic Square.

Executive director of aMuse’um, Sara Evans, said, “This is one of people’s favorite events in Columbia. They love the urban feel of the setting, the different food, live music and the overall atmosphere. I think it was the best one so far, especially since Venue Tenn, Lucille’s and Puckett’s participated.”
This year’s event was expanded to include all three levels of the back parking and three bands. The Leipers Fork Bluegrass Band and the Cody Sumpter Band performed on the upper balcony of Venue Tenn, and Jimmy & the Jokers played behind Lucille’s. It also included participation from Venue Tenn, Puckett’s and Lucille’s who offered more live music after the event in their respective venues.

Food trucks included Moe Better BBQ, Riffs Fine Street Food, Hoss’ Loaded Burgers, Bacon Nation, Pita Pit Nashville, Pucketts Downtown Columbia, Sugar Bella, Me Maw's Kitchen and the Mt. Pleasant Grille. The six styles of homemade beer were brewed by Brooks Jones and Philip Brickner. Downtown florist Mums the Word created the floral arrangements for the tables.
The event was made possible by the dedicated board of directors at aMuse’um and the generous sponsorships from First Farmers & Merchants Bank, Northside Medical Professionals PC, Wes Bryant Law, Maury County Visitors Bureau, WireMasters Inc, McEwan Group LLC, Southern Tennessee Regional health System, Ben & Dee White, Columbia Dance Academy, and Landers Insurance Agency LLC.
Yours truly, Off the Duck, helped with event coordination and promotion.
