The 2015 Home and Garden show held March 13 & 14th at the Baker Building in Maury County Parks kicked off with a bang this year. The new Home and Garden show was a collaborative effort between Maury County Parks and Recreation, Farm Credit Mid-America, Maury County Soil Conservation District, and the Farm Bureau. Over 30 vendors were on hand displaying organic food, garden stools, landscape design services, outdoor smokers and more. Proceeds from booth sales will help fund the proposed one mile expansion of the Maury County nature trail. Tree Day 2015 was also a part of the weekend festivities. Free seedling bundles totalling 3,400 trees were given out to Maury County residents Saturday morning. To keep it fun for the whole family Home Depot set up a children's workshop area for each child to build their own toolbox, and Moe Better BBQ kept attendees full serving up a menu that included ribs, pulled pork, catfish, banana pudding and scratch made sweet cornbread.
